A force de voir défiler la liste 100 % féminine des internautes concernant la réalisation de Wonder Woman, Warner Bros semble s'être habitué à l'idée. L'annonce officielle a donc été faite par la société de production auprès de la presse : le film sera bien réalisé par une femme. Wonder Woman revient sur grand écran en avril 2016 sous les traits de l'actrice Gal Gadot dans le blockbuster Batman V Superman : Dawn of Justice de [Zack Snyder](https://cinema.krinein.com/biographie-zack-snyder/). Mais son vrai grand retour est prévu en juin 2017, dans un film où elle serait le personnage principal. C'est pour ce long métrage que la société de production Warner Bros souhaite trouver une réalisatrice (et non un réalisateur). Plusieurs noms sont déjà sortis du lot : Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight), Mimi Leder (Le pacificateur), et Tricia Book (The Walking Dead).
