**Synopsis :** Au 19ème siècle dans un village d'Europe de l'Est, Victor (Johnny Depp) découvre le monde de l'au-delà, après avoir épousé involontairement le cadavre d'une mystérieuse mariée (Helena Bonham-Carter) alors que sa vraie fiancée (Emily Watson) l'attend désespérément dans le monde des vivants. Alors que la vie dans le monde des morts s'avère plus colorée que l'éducation victorienne très stricte du jeune homme, ce dernier apprend que rien dans ce monde, ni l'autre, ne peut le tenir éloigné de son vrai amour.
